Anna Buonomo - founder and director

Italian-born Anna's work blends ballet, hip-hop and contemporary styles to achieve unconventional dynamics using emotions and human narrative.

Anna's works have been shown at The Place Robin Howard Theatre, Nottingham Playhouse and Stratford Circus. In May 2012, Anna created Story of a Night Pianist, a site-specific work with movement and live music by composer Maestro Lorenzo Turchi-Floris animating the unique space of Trinity Buoy Wharf in Docklands. The piece has since toured in London; Manchester; Hamburg, Germany and Aarau, Switzerland, and become the subject of a separate dance film project, Faraday's Cage.

Following the birth of her first child, Daniele, in early 2014 Anna took a short hiatus but returned with new solo I Am You And You Are Me in summer 2015. In 2016, Anna received funding from the Dance Enterprise Ideas Fund at East London Dance to pilot a new community dance project for older dancers, Water Under The Bridge.

By combining influences from a variety of forms and by working in unusual and outdoor spaces, Anna aims to bring new audiences to live performance and create inspiring, accessible, cross-disciplinary narrative performance works.
